Facebook head of ad sales departing
(AP) -- Facebook's head of advertising sales is leaving the social networking company.
A Facebook spokeswoman said Tuesday that Mike Murphy will soon be stepping down from his post to "spend more time with his family and look to new opportunities in the future."
His departure was reported previously by the technology blog All Things D and The Wall Street Journal.
Murphy joined Facebook in 2006. Previously, he worked as a vice president of media sales at Yahoo Inc.
